Test Manager needed, ideally from a consultancy background, with good project experience, for client based assignments predominantly in the London area. Candidates should have an IT related qualification and should be broadly technical in a range of areas, including web, mobile and rich media, including Video / Audio on demand. You will need to be well organised, confident and client facing, capable of running teams with an onsite, offsite (UK) and offshore mix for the UK arm of a global IT company, reporting to clients and company management.
You need to be a testing advocate, with a passion for software quality and able to guide customers with advice and best practice from experience, industry knowledge and with backup from our consultancy team. Communication skills are of paramount importance, as you will be charged with liaison with the customer at all levels, as well as operational management, reporting and communication / management of third party suppliers.
You will need to own the test process for customer projects, including strategy, documentation, test management tools (HP QC, TestRail, Jira), metrics and KPIs. You need to be confident with operating on multiple projects and ensuring the test process is followed by project managers, sponsors and business users with the organisation. Test phase expertise should include a significant amount of Acceptance testing, as well as In-Sprint testing, where deliveries of software are provided by third party suppliers into organisations. Device compatibility testing is also a major part of this role.
You will be a certified tester, at a minimum of Advanced level (ISTQB) and used to working closely with project managers, sponsors and technical team members in major organisations to assure quality on multiple projects and streams of work. You will have experience in working on agile and waterfall environments, especially with third party suppliers, with particular focus on web and mobile.
You must have experience of managing teams and being solely responsible for the QA function, ideally within a digital environment. Team sizes will vary between 4-10, depending on the workload. Automation, performance and security testing knowledge would be beneficial, as would experience of working in a Continuous Integration environment.
