    Retail Services Customer – Role Senior Devops Reource

     

    Our customer is seeking for a Senior Devops Resource for a Contract Opportunity in SFO,CA. Resource need to be Onsite Mon- Fri

     

    Technical Qualifications Required:

    * Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or 7 + years of equivalent professional experience
    * Expertise with build pipelines, packaging, and artifact management
    * Expertise in programming and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby or Java
    * Extensive experience with CI tools such as Jenkins
    * Strong background in Linux in an enterprise production environment
    * Experience with agile methodologies and practices
    * Experience using configuration management software like Puppet or Ansible
    * Experience with Build Tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle
    * Strong interest in learning new and emerging technologies
    * Familiarity with Linux Containers like Docker
    * Expertise in Cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP)
    * An understanding of network engineering and security principles (e.g. protocols, routing, switching, filtering, firewall rules, etc.)
    * Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Xen
    * Systems administration (Linux and Windows) background
    * Excellent written and oral communication skills

       Experience with VMWare or Xen.

        experience at setting up MS Active Directory,
    * Good understanding of Security and systems best practices

    Additional Technical Qualifications -- Preferred:

    * Experience supporting and implementing Microsoft Active Directory Services
    * Experience supporting Windows environments using PowerShell or Chef or other management tools
    * Experience supporting Java application servers such as Apache Tomcat or JBOSS
    * Experience supporting Oracle databases including backup and recovery procedures
    * Experience supporting no-SQL data stores such as Cassandra
    * Experience with API driven infrastructure

     

    • Neither of them had any specific
    • They both seemed to have OK backgrounds in systems administration with both Linux and Windows.
    • They were both able to communicate their ideas reasonably well, but both came unstuck a bit with certain questions.
    • They both demonstrated a fairly good understanding of network engineering principles, specifically in setting up cloud environments.
    • Both of their experience with cloud was limited to AWS - no Google or Azure.

    Additional Technical Qualifications - “Preferred"

    • Neither of them had experience at setting up MS Active Directory, but have some skills from a users point of view. Pavan spoke about integrations he’s done with AD.
    • Pavan has hands-on experience with Chef whereas Anantha has similar experience with SaltStack.
    • Both had experience supporting Java applications.
    • Pavan was better than Anantha at explaining what a microservice is. Anantha could only demonstrate a very basic understanding.
    • Pavan has some Oracle experience, but no experience with no-SQL databases. Anantha has some experience with MySQL.
