Job Description:

 

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for our organization’s end-users. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless operation of computer systems, hardware, and software while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves resolving IT issues, maintaining systems, and supporting employees with their day-to-day technical needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide Level 1/Level 2 IT support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues (Windows, macOS, MS Office, VPN, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, printers, and remote access problems.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams when necessary.

System Installation & Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade OS, drivers, and enterprise applications.
  • Set up and deploy new workstations, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Perform system imaging, patch management, and software deployments.

User Assistance & Training:

  • Assist employees with password resets, account access, and email setup.
  • Guide users on basic IT best practices and self-help troubleshooting.
  • Provide basic training on new software/hardware when required.

Asset & Inventory Management:

  • Maintain records of IT equipment, licenses, and warranties.
  • Track and manage spare parts and replacement inventory.

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure systems comply with company security policies.
  • Assist in virus/malware removal and security updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years in desktop support, helpdesk, or IT technician roles.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Windows 10/11, macOS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory.
    • Knowledge of hardware repair, TCP/IP, VPN, and remote support tools.
    • Familiarity with ticketing systems.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Customer-focused with patience and clarity in guiding non-technical users.

Work Conditions:

  • On-site.
  • May require after-hours support for critical issues.
