Job Description:

• AEM or CMS experience
• JavaScript principles and fundamentals

Experience of work with plain/vanilla Javascript (as compared with work only using some reactive framework) is a big plus.

• CSS Preprocessors (LESS / SASS)
• understanding CSS itself too.
• Sightly/HTL experience
  - this is AEM specific, shows how extended knowledge are in (1)

• HTML, JSP, HTL (and other templating languages - good to have
• Extensive knowledge of Git and Git commands
• working in the terminal would some points to applicant.
• Bootstrap 3
  - understanding terms and CSS bootstrap conventions are useful. We do not use Bootstrap in full (and any other CSS libraries) as AEM provides their own ways of CSS management and big CSS code slows down site loading time and SEO rating, but Bootstrap aka CSS is present in 7-Eleven, Fuelman, FCUSA.
• jQuery and extending / customizing plugins
  - not used in our and now-day project
• Front End Frameworks and Task Runners
• MVC Frameworks and core underlying principles (Angular, React, Vue)
  We are using currently React & Vue 2. The plan is to abandon Vue 2. for Vue 3. Svelte instead looks promising. It is important for programmers to have the experience to work NOT ONLY using the above system but good knowledge of JavaScript itself - AEM context requires it.
• Familiarity with Responsive Design and Graceful Degradation principles
  - goes along with the requirement above.
• AJAX, JSON
  - Actually, part of Javascript knowledge
• REST / SOAP Web Services

- REST understanding is good, SOAP is not used in our tech stack.

• ADA / Accessibility and Accessibility Markup

- nice to have, not crucial, sign that applicant worked in projects, where FE details are important.
